Please look after mom

                                                              Please look after mom
책 썸네일

Honestly, how many times have you thought about your mom? Do you really consider mom's life when you live? Actually, no. Maybe you are busy living your own life and feel that you don't have any time to look after for others. This book, "Please look after mom" gives chance for people who are late and give tranquil consolation. And for people who are not late yet, can learn a great lesson

"Please look after mom" is a book published by the writer Shin kyeong sook. The basic story is about searching for their mom who got lost in the subway station due to the crowded people. While searching for their mom, the families: her daughter, her son and her husband rewind the memorises and finally realize that mom was very important. The viewpoint differs each chapter, which I thought it was very clever. First chapter starts with the viewpoint from the daughter, than her son and then husband and finally, the mother her self. There is no typical climax but the story overall is very touching, calm and lyrical.

This book can be quite boring since the story isn't that adventurous or funny. However, by rotating the visual points the story became more touching and work upon feelings. For every page that I turn, all of them has some kind of aftertaste in it. And since the topic is about mom, a person we all feel thankful of, it is easily to get touched. After reading this book, I got a chance to look back and think deeply for what I have done for mom. To think of it, I've never done anything for her. She worked all day long to feed me, to teach me, to make me feel happy. But I always grumbled, and complained for more. But my mom, she never got what she wanted from me. In the book, the characters really regret for not doing good for mom when they had her  and regretted the fact that they realized their mom was actually very important after they lost her. I was very sympathized by that point and promised my self to behave well for my mom so that I don't have to regret when I have to say bye-bye to her.

Even if the book is only 3 centimeters thick,. the lesson we get from it is unmeasurable. I recommend this book for all people, and especially for people who need comfort and wants emotional encouragement.

Ode to my eraser

Ode to my eraser

Whenever I wrote something wrong
You're always here stout and strong
ready to sacrifice yourself
even if you can become an elf.

Your skin used to be white,
just like a bright light
But now you are dirty
round, and a little stubby.
You sleep quietly in my pencil case
just fitted for the little left space
Nothing else would fit over there
And I'll never be able to find a material like you nowhere

Although you've lost your height
Thanks to you I fix my wrongs right
So I'm writing this ode to you, my eraser
my friend, my helper, my dear.

Time machine

It is the first day of May. The sky is shining like a gold because of yellow dust. The color is mysterious but it somehow feels gloomy. 9 years have passed since my beloved dog, Milo died. My parents bought him when I was five. I was all alone, and no siblings to play with. But my parents were working together so I begged my mom to buy me a dog and promised to be responsible to him. Finally I had my first friend, Milo the Maltese. I don't know why, but I miss him today more than any other days.
I looked back on our memories, the days we joyfully played fetch or the days we just spent together. The wild cars that did not even care when they ran  over Milo, the day when Milo died... Suddenly my eyes watered up and my heart began to pound very fast. I was running to my house very fast, just like Milo used to run towards me. It was my fault that killed Milo. If I had not told him to fetch that useless toy ball.. If I have not been thoughtless.. I only thought about Milo that I never felt that yellow sand was flying towards me. By the time when my face was covered with gold dust, I finally stopped running and forlornly walked home.
When I arrived to my room, a carpet was in my room. It was a carpet that I have never seen. It had geometric designs on it which looked very magical. Then, I found a piece of paper.
"This is NOT an ordinary carpet. You can move to any time and place you want. Just sit on it and close your eyes. However, you might never come back if you stay too long."
Right after I read the message, I sat on the carpet. I had no time to doubt. All I wanted to do was to meet Milo again and ask for an apologize. So I closed my eyes and went back 9 years.
I opened my eyes. Everything looked familiar. Yes, that carpet was a time machine! So shocked and astonished, a dog was right next to me. It was Milo! I couldn't believe my eyes. I told him that I was sorry and asked him for forgiveness. Surprisingly, Milo was talking to me.
"It's okay Alex. I forgive you. Just remember that even though I am not your dog any more, I am always beside you, in any shape. I did not leave you and I never will. I will always encourage you and help you the best I can. Now it's time to go. The carpet is leaving!"
"Okay Milo..Good bye! No, I mean, see you later!"
I opened my eyes slowly. I was safely back in my room but the carpet was gone. It was a great experience. Now I guess that yellow dust might have been Milo. And I assume he will come to me again.

arguementative essay-Television

썸네일   It is a recent issue whether watching television is good or not. Of course, TV distracts students from studying with fun and entertaining programs and they are really addictive that it is hard to come out once you go in. However, you can't ignore the good things that television has. For me, i think television is beneficial in many ways because we can learn from it and stress can be released.

To start with, television is not only entertaining but it can be also used for education. Many people thinks that television is a fool box. However, there are documentaries which has abundant of knowledge and educational programs such as on-line lectures. These channels can help students to study. For example, my parents allow me to watch television but they always recommend me to watch documentaries because they are usually about the history from all around the world. Watching these programs help me to enlarge my background knowledge. I also listen to a math lecture from television as well. Since is i vacation and I have a plenty of time, I turn on the TV when it is time to start math lecture. After listening to it, I was able to solve the question that I wasn't even able to touch it before. It is really convenient if I just adjust the schedule. Therefore television can be used for studying.

My second reason is that people release their stress by watching television. For example, our family members are so busy that we don't have enough time to rest during the week. But at weekends, we are too exhausted to go out so we sit around at the living room, watch television and eat snacks. We don't just sit and stare at the TV monitor. Television works as a medium that makes our family feel more attached. We talk and play and have time together. So the time when we are watching TV is more like a time of recharging our energy. Since we can't really see our faces so much, just being together makes me relax from the stress I get during the week.

Of course, television might not be the BEST way to be used for education or to relieve stress. However, I do think that television is rather more beneficial than harmful. First, it can be used for education. Second, it can release stress. By these reasons, I think that television is beneficial.

narrative essay- I HATE math

썸네일       I used to hate math. Well,I still hate math. Whenever I opened my math books, there were no answers but just a bunch of numbers were flying. I always sighed when I went to math academy, and it took a hard time to finish their homework. Once, I started thinking about give up math. However, the 6 grade summer vacation changed my thoughts.

Math academy didn't really help me out at first. I couldn't understand people who felt fun when they solve those crazy math problems. We don't even use it in reality anyways. SO i always felt that math was a useless subject. I did not participate much in class. Not only I thought math as a boring subject, but I also didn't have any confidence in math.

When I took my school test, math score was always awful. All other subjects were over 96 but only math was heading down to the 50s. I got so depressed and frustrated. Because of math, I also got a low average. When I came back home, I tried to think what was wrong. Then I figured my self that I wasn't even trying. In fact, I didn't even prepare for math test.I always felt bothered to catch up other students since I was much far behind so I didn't even bare to try. Then suddenly I felt this is not the right path.

For the coming vacation I only concentrated on math. I started from the fundamentals and I learned step by step. At first, I was a bit concerned because I was starting over from the beginning while other students were going ahead. I was also very worried about falling back again when I go back to school. But I tried not to worry about the future and just concentrated on what I am doing right now. Soon, I felt a sort of achievement and I actually felt a little fun. Of course there were some slumps but after when I overcame those, I speed skyrocketed and I was finally able to catch up others. For the test on second semester, my math score was 92.

My math score is still not perfect. Actually, my math score was never perfect. It took me a long, and a hard time just to catch up others. However, I belive the time was worth it and that process is needed in order to step up. That is why I still did not give up math, not because it is needed to get a good score, but because to develop my self. Right now, I am having a hard time in history. But I know if I try, someday I will find out that I have grown up a little bit again.

Who Am I

Hello Everyone :)! For this post, I'd like to introduce me. First, I'll begin with my basic profile.
썸네일

I am a 15year old girl and I live in Bucheon. My birthday is April 28th and my blood type is O.
I am the most typical, ordinary, normal, common, and average girl in the world. Actually, very noisy, lazy, but socially active, talkative, and easy-going.

My parents are both doctors. They are really good at studying, so they help me when I study. However, they are not only great academic teachers, but they are also my life mentors. Whenever I fall into a slump, they encourage me to overcome. They always think positive on every circumstances and try to be participative. So I try to emulate them. I also have a 12year old sister. She is really annoying and she disturbs me every time. She is overly active and loud so it is hard to control her. But she has a kind heart and consider others really well. And since our ages are similar, she is a great company to talk when I am in a worry.

In the future, I'd like to be a lawyer. Once I saw a lawyer in an entertainment program. They looked good to fight for other's right so I admire them and decided to be a lawyer.
